What is the impact of ethical consumerism on the world ?

Hi, today, for my last article I’m going to talk about the impact of ethical consumerism in the world.
If everyone decided to shop ethically it will have an impact on the environment, but also on society.

On the environment because :

In a first time consume ethically can help to tackle the climate change by switching to a green energy provider and to reduce the amount of dangerous pesticides because those products are killing wildlife.

Furthermore, if people continue to consume like they do today, humans’ race is going to deteriorate the earth. Indeed, producing like we do today train pollution and toxics, problems and deterioration of the wildlife habitats, and the climate change.

Finally, consume ethically have a good impact on animals because they are not mistreated and they are raised in good conditions.

 On society because :

Globalization is affecting us all today. Indeed, there is nothing wrong with wanting to trade goods and services, but that is another problem when it comes to creating reforms that reduce the power of local communities, and widening the gap between the rich and the poor. These reforms also increase our ever-increasing consumption of natural resources, and reduce biodiversity. Corporate globalization is a specific economic strategy pursued by the countries of the industrialized world and the transnational corporations whose interests they represent.

Multinational corporations continue to replace hundreds of thousands of small businesses, traders and farmers who traditionally generate most of the economic activities and jobs. Since large companies, unlike small ones, may threaten to transfer their operations to countries where the tax environment is easier, the ability of governments to raise taxes is reduced, in addition to the pressure they face to reduce environmental restrictions and restrictions on business activities. The power of the nation-state is significantly eroded by a process that continues to be heavily subsidized by Western governments.

In conclusion, we can, as ethical consumers, decide to help create the kind of society we want by buying from companies that take their commitments to our communities seriously. Many of the products we buy have been made by companies that pay their workers miserable wages and then hide their profits in tax havens abroad.
